As the heart of community healthcare in Kansas City, we not only emphasize caring for our patients, but also caring for our staff. A few activities we host throughout the year to encourage self-care, team building, and community involvement include:
- Staff Appreciation Day: Once a year, KC CARE’s Perks and Recreation Staff Committee plans a full day of fun, activities, and socializing for our team of over 200 staff. The itinerary differs each each, but has previously included a day at the Kansas City Zoo and a barbecue at Shawnee Mission Theater in the Park. All activities and meals for the day are provided at no cost to employees!
- United Way Week: As a proud, long-time partner of United Way of Greater Kansas City, KC CARE participates in the United Way’s Week of Giving each year and focuses activities on staff appreciation and team building. This has included Chiefs watch parties, chili cook-offs, and KC CARE merch garage sales for our staff. Donations accepted to participate in these events benefit United Way of Greater Kansas City, of whom KC CARE is a grateful funding recipient.
- Holiday Party: The holiday season is a stressful time for many, which is why we give our employees a chance to relax! There is never a dull moment. Past parties have included talent shows, games, activities, great food, and time to socialize with your KC CARE friends.
