In partnership with the Missouri Primary Care Association and the Missouri Telehealth Network, KC CARE staff are two of a seven-member Community Health Worker ECHO.

ECHO stands for “Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes.” The ECHO model was originally developed at the University of New Mexico Dr. Sanjeev Arora, a liver disease doctor, in partnership with UNM to create additional access to Hepatitis C treatment throughout the state of New Mexico.

This model of education uses videoconferencing technology in a case-based learning style to disseminate best

practices from a team of experts to other providers in distant communities. ECHO is now being used worldwide to disseminate best practices in healthcare specialties like asthma care, dermatology, pain management, and Hepatitis C treatment.

Rosalind Hardy is the CHW expert on the Show Me CHW ECHO team and Chief Wellness Officer Dennis Dunmyer is the facilitator that guides each session. SHOW Me CHW ECHO occurs every other Tuesday at 2 pm. The other members of the CHW ECHO team come from around the state of Missouri.
