KC CARE is seeking bids for Brokerage Services of Commercial Property & Casuality and Employee Benefits
KC CARE desires to hire a Brokerage firm to help better assist their insurance needs, with a primary focus on Property and Causualty (P&C) and Employee Benefits (EB). This RFP aims to lead and assist KC CARE to properly insure, protect, and mitigate risk for the current and upcoming new property, mobile units, as well as employee benefits (See Exhibits A and B). KC CARE is seeking proposals from Missouri-licensed, commercial insurance Brokerage Firm/Broker “Agent,” to review, counsel, and advise on either KC CARE’s P&C insurance plan or their Employee Benefits, or both (preferred), and provide qualified personnel who have vast experience in such services and insight for public agencies and/or corporate clients.
KC CARE is a Federally Qualified Health Center with the mission to promote health and wellness by providing quality care, access, research, and education to the underserved patient population as well as the community. KC CARE is exempt from federal income tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code. Their mission is to provide outreach medical, dental, and behavioral health services to people in the Kansas City Community and surrounding metropolitan and rural areas.
The selected Agent shall work directly with KC CARE or their agent for final contract terms and conditions. All contractual terms and conditions will be subject to review by the KC CARE CEO, leadership, and/or Board of Directors and will include scope, budget, schedule, and other necessary items pertaining to the project.
Are there any particular points of interest, beyond the scope of services, KC CARE who like the brokers to address?
No, the scope covers it.
What does KC CARE see as the greatest challenge facing their employee benefits program?
KC CARE would like a partner to work with us to reduce benefit costs for employees and provide exceptional benefits.
Who are the brokers participating in the RFP that associates of KC CARE have worked with at a pervious company (not including current incumbents)?
NA – this information is not relevant as the RFP is open to any and all respondents who would like to participate.
Who is KC CARE’s incumbent P&C Broker?
Arthur J. Gallagher & Co.
What are the top 3 areas of focus as it relates to your risk management program? (I.E. Workplace Violence, Cyber Resilience, fraud and abuse prevention, Site Security etc.)
Cyber security, including HIPAA implications, Patient safety, and Site safety. We are experiencing that Mobile Unit insurance coverage (auto liability) is proving challenging and difficulty of finding coverage seems out of line with level of risk associated with the scope of our mobile services.
Is KC CARE open to sharing current P&C policies so we can complete a coverage review and offer areas for improvement?
We expect to rebid all of our policies for renewal in July and believe we will benefit from new options. Most of our P&C policies are held by Traveler’s.
Is KC CARE open to sharing historical P&C claims information to determine any areas that we can offer additional expertise/support?
KC CARE are not open to sharing claims history until we award the RFP and will discuss claims history with the broker that awarded the contract.
Who within KC CARE manages the current Property Casualty program?
Dennis Dunmyer, COO
